A Very First Time Trip to Phillipines

This week was my time to conduct a teaching just like my experience in previous post. When I taught students in my class that was grade 8, the students had many characters. Some of them got noisy, some students had to be approached by me as their teacher first then they will start to focus, and some of them always focus on the material and follow the teaching and learning process actively. I thought it was a normal situation because they still teenager and still need process in improve their self to become a mature self. But overall, I love them because they finally respect me as a pre-service teacher there. They liked joke with me, they greet me outside every day we meet and wherever I was. Besides of teaching, I also assisted the teacher. Those days in a week were the most tired week ever in this program. Everyday day I had to make a lesson plan for my teaching time, then we had to submit to my instructor teacher, she is Mom Shelyn and checked by the headmaster, she is Mom

On Monday of fourth week, that was my last teaching time. After making many lesson plans, finally we made the best one, no more revision, and I was ready to my last teaching. That day when my final demonstration teaching, I was assessed by Mam Shelyn and Sir Emanuel. Well.. I had already told the students in previous weeek to read a story about "The Story of the Aged Mother" because we would continue to the next story with literature point. For the motivation, I put the music "Mama-by: Spice Girls" which related with the story, then I'd like them to guess who was being talked in the story. Next I show them letters "M O T H E R" and I asked them to mention mother characteristics by starting each letter above. They drastically put their own opinion. Magandang Umaga all! Today I will share what curriculum and lesson plan that MinSCAT Bongabong Campus School. Are you curious? Yeah so let’s see the information below :D This school here apply K to 12 Curriculum whereas this curriculum written and applied with English language. It wasn’t surprisingly because Phillipines has an English language as their second language acquisition. The curriculum contains the program standard, grade level standard, content standard, and performance standard. The lesson plan in this school uses 3 types of lesson plan, they are traditional lesson plan, brief lesson plan, and detail lesson plan. One of those lesson plan also used by Mam Shelyn as an English teacher, therefore we as SEA-Teacher participants also use it. That lesson plan was brief lesson plan. There are some the differences with Indonesia's lesson plan, whereas Indonesia’s lesson plan is rather complicated and most of them need many pages for only lesson plan. Lesson plan

The preparations before teaching were clearly that I had to make a lesson plan. After it, we had to submit it to Mam Shelyn and next, Mam Mamadore. They checked our lesson plan and yeah you will be definitely know that there were many incorrect that make us to make it again. We know that our first lesson plan was a little difficulties in making it because in Indonesia’s lesson plan was absolutely different with lesson plan there.   The teaching days finally come to me and I have to teach in grade 8. It was very nervous for the first time to face many students in the class. It was such a big attempt for me. I decided to use communicative method learning. Then, the time for one subject is 1 hour. I started with greeting, next the motivation or warming up, the point in delivering the knowledge based on the proper material according to curriculum, sum them up into a short explanation so they can understand easily, and finally end with explain what we learn on the next meetin
