* History
    The Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology Bongabong Campus was formerly a nationally fishery secondary school known as Bongabong School of Fisheries. It was founded on September 21, 1964 through a bill that was sponsored by the Congressman Jose, A. Leido Jr. and was later passed as a law, Republic Act No. 3396. The former school site was located along the Sukol River in Poblacion Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro before it’s transfer to he present permanent site, along the shore of Labasa, facing Sibuyan Sea. The site is the titled twenty hectare land; the ten hectares were gradually developed into a fish pond which serves as the laboratory for Aquaculture students. The school then was the medium of instruction on modern fishing technology and scientific. Utilization of the nation’s aquatic resources that were responsive to the needs of the people in the locality.
    Through its evolution as a learning institution, the school was later    converted to Bongabong College of Fisheries, July 16 1998 under Republic Act     No.8134 offering courses in Bachelor in Science in Fisheries and Bachelor of  Science in Fishery Education and maintaining its secondary education.
    In February 7, 2001, the college was integrated to Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology as provided in the provision of the Republic Act No. 8291 otherwise known as Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997 and through Republic Act No. 8960 otherwise known as General Appropriation Act of Fiscal Year 2000. Through this integration the college become MinSCAT Bongabong Campus through Resolution No. 004, series of 2003 approved by the     Board of Trustees.
    Today, MinSCAT Bongabong Campus continues to serve its role as a center for training students to become useful professionals and has spread its services by offering courses that are globally competitive and has an easy access to employments such as Bachelor of Secondary Education, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Tourism Management and the degree courses under the Ladderized Degree Program such as Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Housekeeping NCII/ Food and Beverages Services NCII and Graduate Studies in Master of Arts in Education and Doctor of Education major in Educational Management.

Another information above this campus and school has core values, they are RICE (Responsibilty, Involvement, Commitment, Excelent). What a nice values! Moreover Phillipines also has rice as the main food. :D The purpose of MinSCAT also to help students who don’t have enough money to be able to go to school and learn in school. The name of the headmaster is Mom Mamadore.
MinSCAT Bongabong School also include in the complex of MinSCAT Bongabong Campus. This school is provided classrooms. The classrooms are provided for 7-12 grades. Also only has one class per each grade. The classrooms were also provided a projector, but some classes were not provided a projector. 2 computer laboratories were provided in this school. The using of the laboratories implied for all high school and college students in turn according to schedule.
The other academic support were library, security service, medical and dental services, guidance counselor, registration office, and etc.
The teaching and learning process there started at 07.30 and before it started, students usually have an exercise in the field started at 07.15 (except on Monday, cause they have a flag ceremony). The interesting thing was the daily exercise for me because it was a nice warming up to gain more spirit before they receive material from subject.
The system of teaching was using teacher center and student center according to student abilities. In the teaching process, the teacher gave the material to students by discussing and writing the topic on the white board. The topic was based on the book that proper with it grades and it was also provides on the internet, therefore the student can access the material. Why? Because the students aren’t gave book by this school. This school use K to 12 curriculum and the lesson plan use brief, detail, and traditional lesson plan. But according to Mam Sheylin or the English teacher there, she uses the brief one.
